August 2024 Prayer Letter

Fellow laborers in Christ,

We’re back near home. We’ve said goodbye to the Pacific Northwest and are now closer to what we call home. Our two months in Washington and Oregon were an absolute treat—both in terms of scenery and fellowship. It was a blessing to meet many of the people who served God in the area when my wife lived there years ago and who are still serving today! It’s always encouraging to witness the faithfulness of other servants of Christ, as well as to see others answer the call to ministry and pick up the mantle. I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating: God is still working all over this country (and the world)! Our next two months will be mostly spent in Oklahoma, Texas, and hot weather.

More blessings to report! As the miles on the road continue to put wear and tear on our vehicle, our tires were nearing the end of their life. Driving through wet conditions, I could feel the severe lack of traction at times. We are very thankful for the new set of tires and a much-needed alignment that God provided through the generosity of Beacon Baptist Church in Gig Harbor, Washington. God has kept us safe through some rough weather and, I’m sure, countless other perils that we’re not even aware of.

God wants us in Prague. I have two more blessings to share: First, we have now raised over 50% of our support. Our initial goal was to be in Czechia by early 2026, but if the Lord allows us to continue at this rate, we could possibly be looking at late 2025, which we would be absolutely thrilled with. Second, we now have a contact in the U.S.—a like-minded believer—who is willing to call the Czech president or the U.S. Czech Ambassador to help with any potential visa issues. They are heavily involved with the Czech-American community and know these individuals personally. I’m amazed that God arranged this connection, and it’s just another affirmation of the path God has set for our family.

Please also continue to pray for us in these areas:

  • Prague Baptist, traveling safety and health, language learning, God’s leading on deputation, and our family to be used to minister to churches.
